- How do I access the Junk Quarantine (Barracuda)?
- To view your Quarantine or change settings, visit the Barracuda site
There are 3 ways to reach Barracuda
- Click the link at the bottom of your latest Summary e-mail from Barracuda
- Click the Junk Quarantine link on the main SaberNet web page
- Point your web browser directly at
barracuda.saber.net

What's my Barracuda password?

- Why can't I log in?
- The Barracuda spam filter uses a separate password from your e-mail.
You can request a copy of the random password by
- Visiting Barracuda (How?)
- Putting in your E-mail address
- Then clicking

(not a real button, go to Barracuda to see actual button)
A password will be sent to your e-mail.
Now how do I change it to match my e-mail?

- Is this password the same as my E-mail?
- No it is stored separately.
You can make them match, or keep a separate password for each.

- How do I change the password?
- You can set a new password in your Barracuda preferences
- Connect to Barracuda first (How?)
- Select the Preferences tab at the top
- Click the Password category
- Put in the old password, then the new one twice
- Save

- Do the status e-mails update to stay accurate?
- No. The status e-mail is a snapshot.
It shows the Former contents of your quarantine.
Once it has been sent, the e-mail does not update. Messages you remove will still show in the e-mail.

- What spam settings would be good for me?
- The best settings for you will depend on your needs.
- Extreme: Only allow white listed friends to send mail
- Tag = (any)
- Quarantine = 0
- Block = 7
In this configuration you must add addresses to the white list
- Aggressive: Aggressive spam blocking, may catch some valid e-mail
- Tag = 1
- Quarantine = 2
- Block = 7
- Moderate: Blocks most spam, allows most normal mail to be delivered
- Tag = 2
- Quarantine = 4
- Block = 10
- Relaxed: Only the spammiest spam is captured
- Tag = 4
- Quarantine = 6
- Block = 10
How do I change these settings?

- How do I change my spam settings?
- Follow these steps:
- Connect to Barracuda first (How?)
- Click the left mouse button on the "Preferences" tab at the top of the web page.
- Click on the left mouse button on "Spam Settings"
- Look where it says "Spam Scoring"
then click on the radio button (circle) where it says "No" for Use System Defaults.
- Click on the button where it says "Save Changes" across from "Spam Scoring".
- You will now see sliders. Set the numbers to where you want them (probably lower for Tag and quarantine and blocking off).
- Click "Save Changes" across from "Spam Scoring" when you are done.

- Can I block mail from a specific person?
- Yes you can. Adding someone's e-mail address
to the black list will cause all their mail to be quarantined.
Steps for adding someone to the black list:
- Connect to Barracuda (How?)
- Click the left mouse button on the "Preferences" tab at the top of the web page.
- Put the email address of the person you want to block in
the email address box under "Blocked Email Addresses and Domains (Blacklist)".
- Click the button that says "Add" with the left mouse button.

- How can I get rid of the e-mail in Quarantine?
- No need. The spam Quarantine automatically disposes
of any e-mail that is more than 14 days old. You don't have to do a thing.
If you wish to delete some or all of the Quarantine's contents, here's how:
- Connect to Barracuda (How?)
- Each message has a check box in front of it.
Click the checkboxes for the messages you wish to delete
- After marking the desired messages,
click the Delete button at either the top or bottom of the page

- How do I disable the Barracuda Quarantine notices?
- There are three options for notices: daily, weekly & never.
To change your notice preferences:
- Connect to Barracuda first (How?)
- Select the "Preferences" tab at the top of the web page.
- Click on "Quarantine Settings"
- Choose a Notification frequence: Everyday, Weekly, or Never
- Click "Save Settings" right across from where it says "Quarantine Notification".

- How do I turn off Barracuda entirely?
- This is not recommended. You will receive more spam.
If you are certain you wish to disable Barracuda, follow these steps:
- Connect to Barracuda (How?)
- Click the left mouse button on the "Preferences" tab at the top of the web page.
- Click on the left mouse button on "Spam settings"
- Click on the radio button labeled "No" for Enable Spam Filtering.
(This will turn off any filtering of your email)
- Click on "Save Settings" across from "Enable Spam Filtering" to save your settings.
